CHECK IT OUT…a place for leftovers! those ‘tail ends’…those ‘hanger-ons’…those lil bits of video that didn’t make the final cut….The 10 Second Film Fest at the Soap Factory, Minneapolis, MN.  Deadline is June 23rd, and you can email them the footage!

The freaks come out at night…and at the CAA Conference (at least this year)!

My recent video/animation, “This is a type of freak-show parethenogenesis” will be screened as a part of the MEDIALounge in ARTspace during the CAA Conference in Dallas, TX.  ARTspace, aka the “conference-within-the-conference”, will be in the Lone Star Ballroom C4, 2nd Floor, Adam’s Mark Hotel.  The room will be open all day every day during the conference starting at 9:00am on Wed., Feb 20th. There are three screenings, one for Wed, Thurs and Friday and then a repeat of all three on Saturday.  The program I’m in will run all day Friday with a repeat screening on Saturday….and was curated by Mary Magsamen and Stephan Hillerbrand.

The media lounge will be set-up in the back of the room and will run on a continuous loop. During the scheduled sessions the videos will still be on, but we will provide headphones for people to use if they want to view during those times. There is also free coffee in the mornings and throughout the day. Oh, and ARTspace is free and open to the public. You don’t have to be a CAA member, or register for the conference to see the media lounge or any of the regular sessions scheduled in that room!
